My Macbook is almost approaching its second birthday and it has generally treated me well. Apart from the power cord, I haven’t had any physical problems with it.
Recently, however, the battery has just died. It no longer charges and the computer dies as soon as I unplug it. I have been searching throuh various forums, but none of the solutions that I have tried have worked.
Any body have any ideas?

Leave a Commentwe became so frustrated with having to go to an apple store and waiting for the mac to be shipped back (as if a serious student can live without his computer) that we bought a desk top and a cheaper laptop. Hope you find an easier solution.

Most li-on batteries only are good for 400 some charge/discharge cycles. Now that your laptop is two, chances are it has neared that threshold and the chemistry just doesn’t work anymore. Recycle the battery and buy a new one, that’s pretty much all you can do. Sorry bud.

It’s not the battery, as it works in other computers. I am pretty sure that it is some other hardware problem. The battery isn’t even being detected….I think I’m going to have to build a hackintosh soon.

Check the battery status, Macbook battery recycle for 300 – 500 times I guess… Go to “Apple (Top-right) -> About This Mac -> More Info… ->Hardware, Power.
