I have been getting a few of my entrecard ads rejected due to a ‘design clash’. This could be for two reasons. Either there actually is a design clash, or my entrecard is ugly. I am now starting to second guess its design. Originally, I liked it for its simplicity and I felt that it stood out around other graphical entrecards. After living with it for over a month, I feel that it needs to be redesigned.
What are your thoughts? Should I stay with this simple entrecard, or design a graphical one?
[update] I just received an email from my mom asking what entrecard is. For those of you who don’t blog or know what entrecard is, it is a networking tool for bloggers. Each blogger produces a business card (called an entrecard) that can be placed on other blogs. In return, I place other bloggers’ entrecards on my blog.

Actually I think your logo is distinctive. I like logos that are pictures with no text but usually logos that are text with no pictures suck, especially the default ones. But the mix of colors and the well chosen font make yours stand out.

I think your card could use some change, but it is certainly not bad at all. In fact, there are many that are much more ugly.
If you do go for a change I think adding a very simple logo graphic or even just something that ties your keywords together (even a tie, as per sheet music for two hand parts) would add something attractive to it.
If you check my card out I have my logo on it, but it is also a very simple 2 color scheme and isn’t very exciting. I’m not sure how well my own card will perform over time, but the logo itself has received positive feedback.

I am still not quite sure what changes I am going to make. Right now, I am leaning towards keeping it pretty much the same, with a new font and colours.

I really dislike text only entrecard images. They do not fit in well with other advert widgets and look rather unprofessional, in my opinion. I would not refuse your advert based on this, but as a visitor to a blog I would more than likely NOT click on your ad if I were not specifically visiting entrecard sites.

I wouldn’t change it simply because someone rejected it for design issues. There are many great things about EntreCard, but unfortunately, there are bad ones too. The way that EntreCard is set up, if you deny requests occasionally your blog price will increase. I personally think it would be better with a redesign, but don’t do that if it’s just because some cockwaffle rejected your card.
