While condensing my insanely long list of bookmarks today, I came across two guides for growing your own furniture. These were from a while ago, and I haven’t seen these projects get exposure recently.
Grown Furniture offers good instructions on how to ‘train’ and graft trees together to make furniture, like the stool pictured to the left. The instructions aren’t difficult. I would definitely grow one of these if I had my own place right now.
Ready Made Mag used to have a set of instructions on how to sprout a couch like the one seen below. The article has either been taken down or it was buried within the paid subscription part of the site. Nonetheless, instructions aren’t really required for this grass couch. It is totally doable, and the only thing holding me back is the lack of a yard.
