I have an image of an ultimate computer setup in my head. The big problem with it is that it cannot be purchased (for a reasonable price).
This computer would be an Apple box that powers three monitors. Two of the monitors would run OS X and the third would run Windows via VMWare. A Mac Pro is capable of this setup, but as I have mentioned earlier, they are ridiculously expensive and not affordable for a student. There is a huge gap in the Apple product line between the Mac Pro and the iMac. In this gap, there should be a uATX desktop computer. Pixel Perfect Productions has mentioned this exact ‘Missing Mac‘ that I am talking about.
I think that my only present option is to build a Hackintosh like Lifehacker did here. Let’s hope that Macworld ’08 will change this.

Leave a CommentMy ultimate computer setup would be at minimum 2 – 22inch flat screens (maybe 3)a high end Windows XP (maybe Vista)more memory than a person can think of. I would have at minimum 2-500 GB hard drives. Full surround sound speaker system. Wireless keyboard and mouse. High end color laser printer. Large bed scanner and hidden wires.
Might even go with more drives. Oh and the room to house all this.

the only thing i have to say is, how could you possibly envision perfection in a crapple, forget the missing mac, if its your perfect setup your invisioning price doesnt matter you shouldnt be able to afford perfection. My perfect setup involes an amd phenom black edition processor, two crossfire enabled hd radeons at 1gb onboard ram each, a razer death adder, the new microsoft keyboard with an indivual full color led screen for each key, a completely acrilic case, one copy of windows vista , and of course a nice background of steve jobs’ grave. (i know its an outdated forum, bitwe me).
